SuperSec gives a company or an individual control over internal and external documents. Documents are organised by recipient - companies you do business with, employees of those companies, colleagues, or personal friends. Creating documents is easy using the familiar Word word processing program from Microsoft. Once documents are created, SuperSec ensures that they can be retrieved easily. Access to documents in the system is governed by rules defining who can or cannot view or change documents. Documents are stored securely so that they cannot be altered without appropriate authority, and all access to them is logged.

SuperSec can be used in a number of ways:
- It can be a stand alone program running on a single PC, with a single or multiple users of that PC.
- It can operate across a network of PCs providing access to information stored and managed centrally while providing the appearance to the individual that they are managing their own environment.
- It can also operate across the Internet so that remote users can access the system using a variety of devices (eg PDAs) or remotely, but securely, from outside a private network.
The appearance to the user in each case is the same - the same user interface, the same appearance, and the same tasks can be performed.
